Closely Watched Trains

Comedy-drama about a young man employed in a tiny station during World War II. Milos Hrma, a bumbling dispatcher's apprentice at a village railway station in occupied Czechoslovakia, longs to liberate himself from his virginity. Oblivious to the war and the resistance that surrounds him, he embarks on a journey of sexual awakening and self-discovery, encountering a universe of frustration, eroticism, and adventure within his sleepy backwater depot. Milos becomes involved in a plot to blow up a German ammunition train, but when the plan backfires, he is forced to commit the ultimate act of courage.

Kino Art Back on Cihlářská

Just like a phoenix, Kino Art has risen from a pile of debris and asbestos! Art has decided to adopt the attribute of “cinema for demanding audience” and so it invites you to also be demanding from Friday the 13th and let yourself be pampered by film hits.

The first film in our re-opened cinema starts at 7pm. We will be showing the legendary silent film Sunrise accompanied by the live music of Duncan Hendy played by the string quartet IQ and piano by Jana Nevoralová, conducted by Gabriela Tardonova.

Afterwards, Art will celebrate its 100th birthday and you are all invited! Come celebrate with us to our party of a round-the-clock marathon of 100 years of Art, 100 hours of film, which will kick off on Friday at 10pm and wrap up on Sunday at midnight.

Programme coming soon here and on our facebook.

Tickets will be for sale from the beginning of September.

Be demanding, Kino Art is back!

Art loves nomadic lifestyle and so just before it reopens in September it will go on holidays to the compelling Kabinet Múz where it’ll offer its special summer programme. The atmosphere will be in the style of Kabinet and traditional Art dramaturgy, which means that you can look forward to a summer cocktail containing musical hits and current art hits. We start on July 3rd!

Friday nights are best in the company of film.

Dig in your closet for your favourite blanket and bring it to the gardens of Villa Löw-Beer. During the months of July and August Villa Löw-Beer will be hosting projections of summer films – all arranged by Kino Art. You can look forward to carefully selected film hits projected under the starry sky in the original joint gardens of two iconic villas.

Café Celnice will be open during this time.

70 seats for sale online - in case of good weather more seats available at the event. In case of storms and strong wind the projection will be moved inside the villa.
