Club Kid

New York’s queer party scene never sleeps. But its former king, Peter, wakes up one day to a reality nobody prepared him for: he learns he has a ten-year-old son he never knew existed. His life packed with parties, drugs and endless nights suddenly takes a new turn. Club Kid takes you on a ride through a club scene filled with music, dance, humour, and a healthy dose of chaos. Beneath all the glitter, however, we gradually uncover a tender story about loneliness, vulnerability, and a blossoming relationship between two people who are only now learning how to be a family.  And it’s precisely when the music dies down that the film reveals its tenderness. Jordan Firstman’s feature debut, produced by A24, made a splash in Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section and became one the biggest hits of this year’s festival. Get ready for a film that will make you laugh, dance, and cry. And maybe, you’ll discover that even the ultimate party boy can find happiness beyond the dance floor.
