Little Otik
World-renowned Czech filmmaker Jan Švankmajer puts his distinctive spin on the folk tale of Little Otik. He set the story of a voracious child made of wood that gradually devours everything around into the ordinary modern block of flats. Jan Švankmajer turns the story into a grotesque horror film that grows into a parable about humanity's arrogant attempt to defy nature. As in his earlier feature films, here, too, the author combines live-action and trick sequences with a masterful stop motion animation.
