One of the extra-terrestrials is left stranded on the strange planet after a more than hasty take-off. Luckily, it meets and befriends a boy named Elliot. Yet it begins to feel homesick for its own kind. Moreover, by a twist of fate, it ends up in the hands of ruthless scientists and it seems its vital powers are beginning to fade away… Great special effects, exquisitely measured plot development, fairy tail like music, and a powerful story about the strength of friendship, have made E.T. the 2nd most watched film of all time.
