Adelheid
Adelheid, dein Schönheit, dein Mutt... there’s a train arriving to the Czech-German frontier and it’s carrying a new resident who starts living on a nearby farm where he meets an unapproachable German woman called Adelheid. A unique bond on the verge of understanding and estrangement is created between them. The film’s scriptwriter Vladimír Körner and the director František Vláčil agreed that it is the language barrier and also the exacerbated time immediately after the Second World War “in which there was no love nor peace” that is in a way of the potential melodramatic relationship.
